Ahmedabad, February 27, 2024: GLS University, in collaboration with the Ahmedabad School Management Association (ASMA), successfully organised a one-day education conclave dedicated to reimagining the future of education in schools within the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2020. The event, attended by esteemed school authorities from across Gujarat State, was held at the GLS Auditorium, GLS Campus, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad, on February 27, 2024.
The founders of ASMA expressed their appreciation and felicitated Shri Sudhir Nanavati for his exemplary contribution to the field of education. The recognition highlighted his dedication to fostering positive changes in the education sector.
Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, introduced GLS and GLS University to the gathering and shared the proud incident as to how, in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, the bill to approve GLS University was passed unanimously due to its rich legacy. Shri Sudhir Nanavati spearheaded comprehensive discussions on the pivotal aspects of NEP 2020 and NCF 2020 and expressed his views on the need for change in the education system with various examples of innovative courses like integrated and dual degree programmes.
In his address to the attendees, Shri Sudhir Nanavati outlined practical ways in which the principles of NEP 2020 and NCF 2020 could be implemented to transform the education format. He introduced the initiatives taken by GLS University in this direction by sharing innovative international collaborations that give immense and vast academic and career opportunities to the students. He emphasised the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility in achieving the objectives set forth by the policies.
The conclave saw active participation from school higher authorities across Gujarat State, fostering a platform for open dialogue and the exchange of ideas on the effective implementation of the new education policies.
The event featured interactive sessions where participants engaged in constructive discussions, exploring actionable strategies to align their institutions with the transformative vision outlined in NEP 2020 and NCF 2020.
Dr. T.S. Joshi, former director of GCERT, shared a comprehensive insight into the philosophy and principles behind various provisions of NEP 2020 in a very lucid and interactive manner. He especially emphasised the pedagogical aspects of NEP 2020 at the school level.
Dr. Rohit Chaudhary, DEO, expressed his satisfaction and congratulated the organisers for organising such a function. He suggested holding more such interactions, workshops, and trainings for all the stakeholders.
Dr. Nirav Thakkar, Principal, AES AG Higher Sec. School; Dr. Vaishali Shah, Campus Director; Sheth CN Vidyavihar; and Dr. Dharmesh Shah, Provost, GLS University, were among the other eminent speakers who shared their views and insights on the topic.
