The Faculty of Commerce at GLS University successfully organized a two-day educational field trip to Adani Port Mundra for its second-year undergraduate students. The program was organized in collaboration with the Adani Foundation, reflecting their commitment to enriching lives through education, particularly in the communities where the Adani Group operates.
The highlight of the visit was a tour of the 4620 MW Adani Power Plant, the world’s largest private thermal power plant. Here, students were introduced to the complexities of power generation on such a massive scale.
In addition to the power plant, the students visited Mundra Port, which holds the distinction of being India’s largest commercial port. They learned about the port's pivotal role in the nation's trade and logistics network, as well as the advanced infrastructure that enables it to handle the vast volumes of cargo that pass through it daily.
Another key part of the trip was the visit to the West Basin Coal Terminal, Asia’s largest coal handling terminal. This terminal is crucial to the operations at Mundra Port, facilitating the import and export of coal, which is essential for energy production and various industrial processes.
The educational tour concluded with a visit to the Adani Wilmar oilseeds refinery. Here, students had the opportunity to observe the entire production process, from the receipt of raw materials to the refining and packaging of finished products.
This educational visit is part of GLS University’s broader strategy to integrate practical industry exposure into its academic curriculum, ensuring that students are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the professional world. The success of this trip is a testament to the university's commitment to providing a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom.
