Faculty of Management, GLSU conducted a three-day Orientation Program to welcome MBA batch of 2024 - 2026 and provide them with insights to kickstart their academic journey. The program was organised from September 2nd - 4th, 2024 and featured a diverse range of sessions, workshops and activities.
The first day of the orientation focused on introducing the students to the Faculty of Management and providing them with a broader perspective on management education. The day began with a formal inauguration ceremony, followed by welcome addresses by the Provost Dr. Dharmesh Shah and other key faculty members. Renowned industry experts, namely Mr. Parasharan Chari, Director of MedKart Pharmacy and Mr. Nayan Shah, cofounder of Maisha Lifestyle (Shark Tank India S2), shared their valuable insights and experiences with the students. A fun-filled ice-breaking activity, "Mind Curry," helped the students to connect with each other and relax.
The second day of the orientation delved into the core principles and concepts of management. Mr. Ankit Joshipura, Founder & Managing Director, Metamorphosis Institute of Transformation and a renowned expert in personal and professional development, conducted a session on "The 9S Concept of Sure Shot Success". We then had an engaging Alumni Talk Show, where our alumni shared their unfiltered stories of resilience and answered questions from students about transitioning from campus to career. This was followed by Programme Insights by Dr. Sneha Shukla, Programme Coordinator, MBA in which she provided a clear roadmap for the journey ahead.
The final day of the orientation focused on personal development and student engagement. Dr. Isha Dave, Assistant professor, FOM, conducted a workshop on "1440 Minutes: Blessing or Curse?", exploring the effective use of time. The Student Activity Committee (SAC) briefed the students on the various extracurricular activities. Dr. Anurag Mehta, a psychologist led a workshop on "Emotional Equilibrium: A journey to Resilience," emphasizing the importance of emotional well-being. The day concluded with a vibrant ground activity, "Fusion," which allowed the students to bond and celebrate their new beginning.
MBA Orientation Program was a resounding success. The carefully curated sessions and activities provided the students with a comprehensive overview of the MBA program and the skills required to succeed. The interaction with industry experts and alumni offered valuable insights and inspiration. The program also fostered a sense of community among the new students, helping them to feel welcomed and supported.
