iffco-visit

A group of 50 enthusiastic second year students pursuing B.Com. Fintech program, along with their faculty members of GLS University’s Faculty of Commerce embarked on an insightful industrial visit to the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) situated in Kalol. The visit was aimed at giving students a firsthand look at the operations of one of the largest cooperative societies in the world and its role in agricultural development and the Indian economy.

The students, eager to learn and broaden their academic horizons, were exposed to IFFCO’s extensive operations in fertilizer production, marketing, and distribution along with a visit to their infrastructure for the same. They also had the opportunity to interact with the plant's personnel, who shared their experiences and insights on the industry.

The visit commenced with a comprehensive briefing by IFFCO’s team, detailing the company’s history, mission, and its contribution to the agricultural sector. Students learned about IFFCO's commitment to sustainability, innovation in agriculture, and its adoption of new technologies to improve crop yields. The IFFCO team also shared insights into how modern finance, technology and accounting practices are integrated into their operations, aligning with the students’ areas of study.

In addition to the technical aspects, the students were encouraged to explore the synergy between commerce, accounting, fintech, and the agricultural industry. Interactive sessions allowed students to ask questions and discuss the practical applications of their academic learning in a real-world industrial setting.

The visit was not only educational but also a platform for students to understand the real-world challenges faced by industries in the agricultural and manufacturing sectors. It provided a valuable learning experience that bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks, wherein the students expressed their gratitude to IFFCO officials and the faculty members for organizing the visit.
