Empowering Future Technologists: A Series of Expert-Led Seminars at FCAIT

Faculty of Computer Applications and Information Technology (FCAIT) organized a series of seminars to equip students with essential knowledge in emerging technologies and career opportunities. Conducted by experts, these sessions covered NoSQL databases, image processing, and future career prospects.

On January 28, 2025, FCAIT hosted Opportunities After BCA for third year students. Professionals from law, computer science, design, performing arts, and business administration discussed diverse career paths, including software development, data science, UX design, and legal tech. They emphasized higher education, certifications like AI/ML, and opportunities in freelancing and entrepreneurship.

On February 5, 2025, FCAIT held a seminar on Apache Cassandra for BCA and IMScIT students. Led by Prof. Nirav Suthar, the session covered NoSQL database features like peer-to-peer distribution, fault tolerance, and scalability, with real-world applications in social media and e-commerce. Practical demonstrations included setting up a Cassandra cluster and optimizing performance.

On February 6, 2025, a seminar on Image Processing was conducted for FCAIT students. Prof. Neha Vaswani covered key concepts like image enhancement, noise reduction, and compression, highlighting applications in medical imaging, computer vision, and AI, with hands-on demonstrations using OpenCV and MATLAB.

These seminars broadened students’ knowledge of technologies and career pathways, preparing them for the evolving IT industry.
