Faculty of Business Administration is a brainchild of the visionary leadership of Gujarat Law Society. It was established in 1999 with the intention to equip students of Ahmedabad with a bedrock of management skills to help them navigate through the complex business environment. It offers Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing, Accounting & Finance, Banking and Financial Services, International Business, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship and Family Business, Retail Management, BBA+ CMA as well as BBA+ACCA.

Apart from its well-founded, industry-ready syllabus, the institute strives for the comprehensive development of students through unique pedagogical tools for experiential learning, along with a stimulating blend of co-curricular and extracurricular activities including socially oriented pursuits. The Institute organizes “IMAGE” -an Inter-college National Level Management Fest - every year to develop managerial insight among the students. The students are given a platform to develop their talents in activities like creative expression, fine arts, theatrical skills, dance and music, sports and social service in order to instill confidence in them.

The course is multi-disciplinary and aims at providing a foundation in business administration theory that is steeped in contemporary industry practices as well as equipping the students with robust communication skills to render them effective professionals.   • To equip the students with academic knowledge and understanding of the theory, principles and conceptual framework of business administration and subjects allied to it.
  • To inculcate the ability to observe situations and make linkages between academic knowledge and practical applications.
  • To develop strong communication skills supporting their role as future managers.
  • To ensure that the students learn to critically evaluate and analyze complex situations and hone problem-solving skills.
  • To help develop the ability to manage oneself and work collaboratively in teams.
  • To encourage the students to think creatively and innovatively.

Courses Offered

BBA/BBA(Hons.)

BBA/BBA (Hons.) offers 3years/4years programme with specialization in Accounting and Finance Management, Marketing Management, International Business Management, Banking and Financial Services, Human Resource Management. This gradual progression will ensure that students emerge from the program ready for higher education, placement in the corporate sector or starting their own venture.

Integrated MBA

IMBA offers 5 Years programme specialisation from 14 Unique Specialisations to choose from Finance, Marketing, HRM, Business Analytics, Decision Making, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Managing Innovations, Startups etc. The Integrated MBA Programme is based on a Choice Based Credit System to enable the students to choose the subject of specialization of their choice and interest. These subjects are curated and offered after a rigorous market demand study, so that the students of I-MBA Programme are ready to blossom professionally in the wide field of management.

BBA (Retail Management) in collaboration with MSIL

Hon’ble Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama (Minister of Education, Government of Gujarat) and Hon’ble Shri Saurabhbhai Patel (Minister of Energy, Government of Gujarat) inaugurated the GLS University’s Internship embedded BBA in Retail Management Degree Program in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), in the august presence of Mr. Manoj Agrawal (Executive Vice President, Maruti Suzuki India Limited) and Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President, GLS University.

To enter an industry-academia partnership which will assist and guide for On-The-Job (OJT) Training, Knowledge Transfer, Learning and Skill building of the selected youths who have been enrolled into BBA (Retail Management) offered by the University in association with leading Dealerships of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL)

Eligibility Norms

  • The applicant must have passed the Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHEB)/ Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE)/ Indian Council of Secondary Examination (ICSE) or its equivalent under the 10+2 pattern.
  • The applicant must have obtained the following minimum aggregate marks (i.e., total marks obtained divided by the maximum total marks admissible, including marks of all subjects- theory and practical):
  • For open category candidates: 45%
  • For reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC) candidates: 40%

Infrastructure

The institute has set up a well-equipped computer lab having advanced versions of software, Wi-Fi facility, and various software package subscriptions which are useful for the students. The institute has incorporated Moodle in its state-of-the-art computer lab to ensure that the evaluation of its students is objective and effective.

The library of Faculty of Business Administration is a reservoir of knowledge and information. It is a modern, well-stocked, serene facility covering every academic subject offered as a part of the BBA curriculum. The library is a rich repository of books, e-books, journals, magazines, newspapers, past university as well as other colleges' preliminary examination papers and easy study materials. The library allows access to academic e-Journals, e-Books and online databases available through institutional membership of NLIST INFLIBNET program.

Apart from these, Air – Conditioned, ICT- enabled spacious A.C classrooms, media library, CWDC cell as well as seminar room are some of the highlights of the institute’s modern infrastructure.

As part of this vision, we have a dedicated placement cell which works from the very first semester for student development.
