GLS University celebrated its 8th Convocation on February 19th, 2025, honoring the academic accomplishments of over 4700 students. The ceremony was a grand affair, graced by esteemed dignitaries and marked by inspiring addresses and the conferment of honorary doctorates. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, and Hon’ble Justice Shri C.K. Thakker, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, Shri Pankaj Patel, President of Gujarat Law Society, Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University, along with university authorities, and the Deans & Directors from various departments.
The convocation was privileged to host Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Minister of Education, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. In his virtual address, Shri Pradhan emphasized the transformative power of education and its pivotal role in shaping India's future. He lauded the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, highlighting its vision for an inclusive and holistic education system. Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University, expressed her pride in the students' and university's achievements. She highlighted the importance of leadership and education in shaping the future. The ceremony also saw the conferment of honorary doctorates upon Hon'ble Justice Shri C.K. Thakker and Shri Tushar Shukla for their exceptional contributions to law, education, and Gujarati arts and literature, respectively.
Hon'ble Justice Shri C.K. Thakker, a beacon of integrity and intellect, inspired the audience with his words, reminding them of the profound responsibility they hold in shaping the law with fairness and wisdom. Shri Tushar Shukla, a renowned poet, lyricist, and broadcaster, shared his journey and the influence of his works on generations.
The convocation also recognized outstanding academic performance, with 34 meritorious students receiving Gold and Silver Medals and 34 students honored with 'Best Student' Awards across various faculties. 58 doctoral students were awarded their Ph.D. degrees, marking the culmination of their rigorous research and dedication.
