Professional development activities will bean integral part of the study programmes at GLS University. Students of all disciplines will be expected to participate in a number of professional development activities that will prepare them not only for their studies, but for professional careers and their entire life.

Professional development comprises

Soft skill enhancement programs

The students will be systematically divided into various groups as per their present soft skills and according to their levels, various soft skill experts' workshops will be conducted. The progress of all the participants will be closely monitored for enrolling them to higher level of soft skill enhancement programmes.

Providing platform to host/manage formal events

In order to build confidence, the students will be given responsibilities to host/manage formal events which will help them to overcome stage fear and participate in public speaking.

Formal Presentation Opportunities

The students will be given opportunities to represent the University at various intra-university meets which will enable them to learn formal presentation skills which are essential in today's competitive world.

Understudy Training

The students will be encouraged to assist senior staff members in their operational work and observe them closely. During this kind of assistance, the students will be able to observe real life work challenges and understand how to tackle them.

Special Team Projects or Assignments

Students of different education streams will be combined in a team and will be given special assignments requiring different kinds of skills. The students are expected to understand the tasks and responsibilities of each team member and execute the assignments in the given time frame.

Work One-On-One With experts

The students will be given opportunities to work with the experts of their areas. The University will leverage its industrial linkages to identify various live projects and assign students to work on them with the experts.

Self-Development Programs

The University will organise regular inter-personal skills and motivational programmes for students in order to maintain pace with the changing environment and the hectic lifestyle.

Reading Skills Training

Reading is an essential skill for an individual of any age or profession. The University has structured programmes in which the students will be given controlled training to develop reading skills. The students will be also encouraged for reading subject Books, Trade Journals, Literature, etc., and will be expected to present formal reports for the same.

Mentoring

The University will have mentor groups in which faculty members will be assigned small groups of students for mentoring. The faculty members will be closely working with the students for various matters during the entire duration of the programme.

Personal Development Workshops

The University will have structured programmes and workshops for personal development. The programmes include various workshops, modelling, role playing, expert reviews, presentations, demonstrations, etc.

Planned Structured Behaviour Change

The University will have special teams of experts who will closely work with students' behaviour monitoring and will be systematically reinforcing positive behavioural changes.
