Under the aegis of GLS University, Faculty of Computer Applications and Information Technology(FCAIT) offers contemporary courses at under graduate and post graduate level in the field of Computer Applications and Information Technology. With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation, the department has always produced quality professionals. As of now, four programmes are offered under the umbrella of FCAIT.

Five year Integrated Master of Science (Information Technology) – iMSc (IT) Programme encompasses a blend of a flexible and modern syllabus where by students are exposed to various areas of information technology including the latest developments in the industry. The curriculum prepares students for a career in the fast lane of Information Technology. The course enables the students to stay updated about the latest revolutions in technology and equips them with the required skills and knowledge to enter into the industry and carve a niche for themselves.

Under the five year integrated programme, on successful completion of three years, students are awarded BSc (IT) degree and on completion of fifth year MSc (IT) degree.

Industrial Visits & Educational Tours

Industrial Tours are organised to orient students the use of technology and scope of technological advancements in different sectors of Industries. Some of the industries visited are Mundra Port, Amul Dairy, Anand, Amul Plant, Mogar, 108 – Emergency Control Center, BSNL RTTC, DivyaBhaskar News Paper Press, Akshaya Patra, Parle – G Plant, Bisag and others.

The curriculum offers various interdisciplinary subjects for students thereby enabling them to get orientation of cultural heritage and regional legacy. For this, educational tours are organised at places of cultural heritage as Polo Forest, Mahatma Mandir, Center for Environmental Education, ECS, Gandhi Ashram, Sarkhej Roza, Adalaj Ni Vaav, Rani ni Vaav, Sun temple Modhera, Dandi Kutir and others.

The institute strives to make students capable and excel in real world. The Placement cell is in continuous effort to provide the student with best possible opportunities and provide them a chance to be eligible for the jobs in most efficient and reputed companies and at most appropriate job designations. Placement Cell guides and provides excellent placement support and opportunities to students to build their career in IT field. The Placement Cell provides various placement support as mentoring and preparing students to be prepared for facing interviews, building an effective resume, pre – placement talks, placement registrations and guidance.
